EDUCATION: I have a Bachelor’s in Communication from Kennesaw State University. In 2022, I completed three years of multidisciplinary educational training in human science, plant science, cut flowers, and horticultural therapy (Colorado State University, Horticultural Therapy Institute, and Floret Online Workshop). I have a certificate in Horticultural Therapy. I’ve used this education to transition our flower farm into a therapeutic based flower farm.
CURRENT EDUCATION: I am supervised by a registered horticultural therapist with the AHTA to assist in completing my horticultural therapy registration by 2024. I’m also enrolled in a soil advocacy course.
TH PRACTICE: In addition to the farm, I lead horticultural therapy sessions at Trellis Horticultural Therapy Alliance.
JOURNEY: I’ve healed from high anxiety, trauma, grief, navigating a family member’s substance abuse, and divorce/separation. I want to help women who need healing from theses same struggles too.
FAITH: My favorite Bible Verse is Isaiah 43
FAMILY: I’m a wife to my dearest husband, Simon, a mom to Saylor (6 year old daughter), bonus mom to Tristan (12 year old boy), Brennan (10 year old boy), and Khaleesi (9 year old girl), and a chicken mom to 10 “girlies.”
SUPPORT: My core family & friends are the BEST cheerleaders and the safest shelters! I have found so much love and care through many support groups (most of them Woodstock City Church referred me to). Nar-Anon, Oasis, and Arise! International are INCREDIBLE and super healing groups!
WRITING: Alliteration is my amigo - if you haven’t noticed already ;). I enjoy screenwriting and poetry as a hobby.
FUTURE: Lots of sheep on the farm (I LOVE sheep).
PASSION: I love the healing and health regenerative agriculture and local farming bring. We need more local farms!
FAVORITE FLOWER: A Daffodil...and yes this flower inspired the name of Daffodilly Farms. :)
